Christian Leadership Institute (CLI) is a six-day opportunity for you to grow the gifts God
gave you! You'll have a great time learning to lead, and you'll come back to be a stronger leader for your parish youth

Heart & Soul will rock and roll
at High School Rally this Fall!
Jesus Christ, King of Heart & Soul is the theme of our 2009 diocesan High
School Youth Rally, to be held Sunday, Oct. 4, at the Coralville Marriott.
Our keynoter will be the amazing ValLimar Jansen, an incredible storyteller
and singer who has performed at NCYC. We'll also enjoy music from the band "1 of 12," celebrate Mass with Bishop Amos, grow
in our faith at some great breakout sessions, eat a lot, and play on inflatable games. Rally comes early this
year, so let your parish youth leader know now that you want to go!

You'll want to get one of these shirts, which capture the coolness of Jesus Christ, the King of Heart & Soul. They'll
look hot at the rally in October, and also double as our NCYC shirt, so folks will be wearing them on the streets of Kansas
City this fall on the Feast of Christ the King!

Reaching new heights
at Catholics in Action
Nearly 100 youth and their leaders from 17 parish groups went out on a limb for three days to serve
people in need at Catholics in Action 2009. Whether it was climbing a ladder to paint a flood-damaged home in Cedar Rapids,
or grabbing a paint brush to spruce up the Iowa City animal shelter as it relocated after last summer's floods, CIA participants
rose to the challenge.
