...That's what ValLimar Jansen reminded 645 youth and adults at the 2009 Youth Rally that we're called to be- "His presence for the World."

But it wasn't just Val's words that touched us on Oct. 4. It was a cool procession of parish candles at the start of Mass, the awesome harmonies by the band "1 of 12" as they sang "Christ Reigns," the humor and heartfelt words of Bishop Amos, the rabbits and snakes in the "All Living Creatures" breakout, and just the chance to have fun and make new friends after dinner.

All of this helped us know that Jesus is the King of Heart & Soul, and that His kingdom is a really great place to be!

Youth from parishes across our diocese were light-bearers in a candle procession before Mass.

And the winners were...

Jeff Diggs of our Lady of Victory in Davenport won a $35 discount to any diocesan youth event (CLI, CIA, TEC or next year's rally) by participating in the DYMC's Activity Fair in the lobby and learning more about those and other great events.

A $15 I-Tunes gift card was won by Kaitlyn Schmidt of St. Joseph's in DeWitt

You could feel the energy as ValLimar sang!

Silent Auction winners were...

Fr. Marty Goetz won a a cool wooden cross made by DYMC youth chair Quinn Montgomery.

James Zimmer of Long Grove won a beautiful beaded cross made by DYMC adult chair Michelle Montgomery.

Thanks to these two generous men and these two talented artists for their donations. The auction raised $250 for scholarships to CLI. Watch this website next spring for details about how to apply for a scholarship!
